Daimler AG moovel mobility platform for user friendly travel options on mobile phones

“Moovel” is an app which will be available for all current mobile phones starting from July 11, 2012. This application is the brain child of Daimler AG who has launched this project in Stuttgart. Through this app mobile users will be instructed on an optimal way of traveling from Point A to Point B. The application is free and is available at all Apple Stores.

Daimler Gaz JV start working on their production of Mercedes Benz vans in Russia

Daimler AG and GAZ Group will be investing over €190 million to ensure production of engines and Sprinter components in Russia. This partnership deal was made public and will be a giant step in the production of these components and engines especially for the Russian markets. Besides this, joint endeavors will also see Gorky Automobile Plant being upgraded with Mercedes Benz Sprinter going into production at the Plant situated in Nizhny Novgorod, Russia.

Daimler AG enters Indian truck segment with 25-tonne Rigid BharatBenz truck

Daimler AG is all set to make their mark in the Indian commercial markets with their newly constructed plant situated at Oragadam, Chennai. The company will be investing adequately in Indian operations and first on the production line is their 25-tonne Rigid BharatBenz truck, which will enter Indian markets by September 2012.

Daimler Smart escooter for future urban mobility goes on sale in 2014

Daimler AG posts Q1 net profit of 20%

Daimler AG has declared their profits for the first quarter of this year. Net profit was up 20% and stood at € 1,426 million. Heavy demand for the company’s luxury cars was the reason for these results. The company that makes Mercedes Benz Premium Vehicles surpassed their previous year’s figures where sales, revenue, EBIT and profit were concerned.

Mercedes Benz van manufacturing plant in Dusseldorf celebrates 50th anniversary

The Dusseldorf Plant of Mercedes Benz is celebrating its 50th anniversary. The past 50 years has seen over 3.5 million vans roll off its production lines, which has a daily production of 700 vans. The plant works in three shifts and is well on its way to create history. Mercedes Benz Dusseldorf plant lies on a 688,000 sq meter plot and offers employment to 6,600 staff and 200 apprentices.

Female employees of Daimler AG take part in Aïcha des Gazelles desert rally

It will be for the third time that woman employees of Daimler will be taking part in Aicha des Gazelles, a desert rally which will see the all woman teams set off through the desert. Marie Le Neillon-Quesseveur, Susanne Ehmer, Christina Ines Ackermann, Coralie Lejeune, Daniela Snyders and Julia Salamon were the female employees who set off on this exciting adventure while Volker Mornhinweg, head of Mercedes Benz Vans was present to flag them off and wish them the best of luck on this challenging but thrilling quest.
